Tonight was a great night as it was this quarter’s meeting of The Giving Group AZ. I am so glad to be a part of this special group. They make a big difference and are just a load of fun! We even got to socialize at Happy Hour first!

The Giving Group AZ is an organization that facilitates donations of $10,000 to other local nonprofits in Arizona. The members of the group donate $100 per quarter. This group then meets once per quarter and hears from four member-selected non-profit organizations. Each member votes for their favorite of the four, and they win $10,000. The other three nonprofits split the rest of that quarter’s donations. Find out more at tggaz.org.

This quarter, the group was lucky to hear from Gigi’s Playhouse, ROSE (Resources/Outreach to Safeguard the Elderly), Harvest Compassion Center, and Families Raising Hope. Each nonprofit gave a great overview of the work they do to support those in the Arizona community and answered questions from the members of The Giving Group. Then the members voted and selected the grand prize organization… Families Raising Hope!

Families Raising Hope, a Phoenix-based non-profit, is dedicated to assisting cancer patients and their families by alleviating the financial burdens of treatment. The organization provides critical financial assistance grants to help with essential living expenses such as rent, utilities, and groceries. By easing these worries, Families Raising Hope allows patients to focus on their health and recovery. The organization is 100% volunteer-run, a testament to its deep commitment to the community.
