Birthdays are a special time, especially when they are for people we love. This year, I was lucky enough to celebrate my mom’s birthday in a way that was simple, joyful, and filled with a little bit of luck: bingo.

It wasn’t a fancy party or an extravagant dinner. It was just a day of good company, some bingo cards, and the unmistakable sound of numbers being called out. As we sat there, daubers in hand, I couldn’t help but feel incredibly grateful. Grateful for the laughter, for the chance to spend quality time together, and for the simple pleasure of seeing my mom so happy.

And then, as if the universe was in on the celebration, something truly special happened. First, my mom called out “BINGO!” and the excitement was contagious. Then, one by one, a few others at our table, including me, were lucky enough to win as well. It felt like a sign, a little birthday blessing sprinkled over all of us.

Being a part of my mom’s birthday celebration while surrounded by family and friends was definitely worth it, especially as we were all able to while enjoying a classic game and winning a few rounds. I am so grateful for this reminder that the best moments in life don’t have to be complicated; just the best people!
